Child Passenger Safety Training

Several coalitions and organizations in Virginia are certified to conduct the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2-day or 4-day Child Safety Seat Training classes.

Participants will learn how critical their role is in promoting child passenger safety; they will enhance their knowledge of the resources available, and become more effective safety advocates, enforcers, and safety seat installers.

2-day Operation Kids Class
The 2-day Operation Kids class was written by law enforcement and is primarily for law enforcement.

4-day NHTSA Safety Seat Technician Course
The 4-day Safety Seat Technician Course is designed for law enforcement, fire / rescue / medical staff, or parent resource organizations – anyone with an interest in child passenger safety. (Course requires written test and hands-on evaluations.)
