Route 7 | 11 Taskforce

Powered by Zoomify

The Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police, in concert with the Virginia Highway Safety Office and the New Market Police Department, is coordinating a Click It or Ticket Blitz for the May CIOT mobilization.

This newly developed Route 7|11 Task Force will build off the popular Route 11 Blitz coordinated by the New Market Police Department along Route 11 for the past several years. Agencies along Route 7 & Route 11 will concentrate efforts along these routes during the May Click It or Ticket Mobilization, May 19-23, 2008.

Friday, May 23 will be the blitz target date for the entire task force and will also kick off the Smooth Operator Aggressive Driver Campaign in the Metropolitan Region scheduled for the next week of May.

We would like all localities along Routes 7 &11 to participate! The New Market Police have verbal commitments from most of the towns, cities and counties along the Route 11 corridor, and many along Route 7 have made the commitment to join the Task Force as well. Other regions in the state conduct these types of activities during the May CIOT with great success. As we all know, non-belt use is a major factor in our highway fatalities here in Virginia. Lets make a difference in saving lives in VA!

There will be a meeting at the New Market Police Department on April 29, 2008 at 2:00pm regarding information on the Task Force. We would like for everyone to attend from the Route 11 leg of the blitz. (Another meeting will be scheduled for the Route 7 leg after the April 29th meeting.)
